Apex Helicopters now based at Richard W. LeVan Airport
WINGHAM — Apex Helicopters is the newest addition to Wingham’s Richard W. LeVan Airport. Owner and chief pilot Chris Vankoughnett introduced his business to the community at the Feb. 18 meeting of North Huron Council.
Vankoughnett told council that when he heard a hangar had become available at the airport, he “jumped at the opportunity.” His business has been growing for some time, and had outgrown its Wroxeter location. Wingham’s airport proved ideal for Apex’s needs.
Apex has purchased the hangar and is renting office space in the terminal building, bringing a thriving commercial operation to the airport. “It’s a growing business… with a number of new contracts,” said Vankoughnett.
